James "Sunny Jim" White

Sunny Jim is no stranger to Trop-Rock music lovers.  He is one of the all-time greats, with an enduring and enthusiastic fan base coast-to-coast.  Jim's live performances call up sea breezes, palm trees, sandy beaches, and good tropical vibes. Audiences often end up dancing in conga lines and moving to the up-tempo rhythms of his original music, a blend of influences that range from the Caribbean to California, by way of Texas. Jim was born in San Antonio, raised in California, and then spent 12 years in the Cayman Islands so Parrothead Cruise 2024 will be a homecoming for him! In the Caribbean he perfected his solo show featuring guitar, vocals, and steel pan infusing his songwriting with the influences of Caribbean masters. It was in Cayman that he picked up the nickname “Sunny Jim.” Jim has published eleven CDs and has won numerous awards for his original music and performances including a Lifetime Achievement award from the TRMA.  Jim last performed on a Parrothead Cruise twenty years ago on Parrothead Cruise 2004.  We are excited about his long-overdue return!

Eric Erdman

Eric Erdman’s accomplishments as a guitarist, producer, and songwriter speak volumes about his talent and drive in the music industry. Eric has played lead guitar for the likes of Nadirah Shakoor, The Buddy Rich Band, and Kristy Lee. He has produced dozens of albums including five solo albums and another five for his former band, The Ugli Stick. Eric has written or co-written hundreds of songs including the theme song for the Speed Channel’s “Drag Race High” and the musical “Box of Letters.”   It's onstage, however, that Eric’s true genius is fully realized. The authenticity of his songwriting is matched by a playing style and voice equally as authentic. Eric possesses the ability to get a crowd to its feet while bringing an element of wisdom and wittiness that is incredibly captivating.  When you see Eric perform and hear his songs it is obvious that he has loved and lost; that he has felt the highs and lows that life can bring. And yet, Eric finds a way to synthesize meaning and even humor from those experiences. More importantly, he’s made it his life goal to share those lessons with the world. Eric is the reigning TRMA Songwriter of the Year, his second straight year receiving the honor.

Carrie Welling

Carrie Welling is no stranger to change or the exploration that comes with it.  Carrie has been navigating life’s twists, turns, demons, and discoveries from a young age. A self-described military brat, Welling’s struggle to feel rooted carved a unharmonious path of heartbreak, doubt, and insecurity that ultimately led to her soul-defining rebirth as an international touring artist.  Her bold, sultry voice, reminiscent of Sheryl Crow’s grit, Natalie Maines’ twang, and Stevie Nicks’ heart is upstaged only by the genuine love and connection this natural performer has with her fans both on and off stage.  Carrie’s latest album, High Heels and Heavy Things, features melodies rich in folksy, Americana roots paired with empowering, honest lyrics.

Rum Monday

Rum Monday is the latest collaboration of Matt HallQuincy Yeates, and Vince Ilagan.  Those names should sound familiar to anyone who knows their Trop Rock history;  Matt and Quincy previously founded the hugely successful band St. Somewhere, one of the 'OG's in the Trop-Rock world.  Vince, too, spent years performing with St. Somewhere.  Rum Monday features steel pans, keys, guitar, a stand-up double bass, and vocals guaranteed to get the crowd on their feet. The band hails from Knoxville, TN, where they held their debut performance of their brand of upbeat, island-tinged rock in March of 2023.  It was more than just a hell of a party though; the band believes in the power of music and giving back to the community, with the debut event raising enough money to donate thousands of dollars of musical instruments to their local community school for the arts.

Scotty Emerick

The Parrothead Cruise is hugely excited to feature Scotty Emerick on Parrothead Cruise 2024.  Scotty is a touring entertainer equally famous for his songwriting, having penned hits for Willie Nelson, Kenny Chesney, Sawyer Brown, and most-notably his long collaboration with Toby Keith.  Scotty has written or co-written many of the songs you know, including Toby's "I Love This Bar", "As Good as I Once Was", and "I'm Just Talkin' About Tonight", and Willie's "Beer for my Horses".  He also wrote the song "Weed with Willie", which may or may not have been inspired by events on Willie's tour bus.

Onstage, Scotty has been busy opening for and performing with Jimmy Buffett on Jimmy's current "Second Wind" tour as well as performing across the country and around the world, including being announced as the headline performer for the PHiP "Meeting of the Minds" Parrot Head convention in 2023.   In addition to his collaborations and his own charting recordings, in the very words of Jimmy Buffett, "Scotty knows more Jimmy Buffett songs than I do!"

Performing at the Parrothead Cruise Bon Voyage Party

Barefoot Reggie Starrett

Veteran of Parrothead Cruise 2022 and Parrothead Cruise 2023 and multiple TRMA Song of the Year award winner Barefoot Reggie is based in Jacksonville Beach, FL and spends most of his time performing live - well over 100 shows a year. When not playing in bars or at Parrot Head gatherings, Reggie’s mix of Classic Rock, Country, and Trop Rock means he is just as comfortable opening for an artist like Alan Jackson as the Black Crows – just two of the many well-known national acts Reggie has shared a stage with. Reggie also opened for Mac McAnally at the 2019 Meeting of the Minds.  We are honored to have him join us once again, this time as the headliner of our Bon Voyage Party
